St.Gallen - With its new spring 2022 collection, the St.Gallen-based textiles manufacturer Christian Fischbacher is seeking to bring a feeling of warmth and comfort to the home office. The new decorative and upholstery fabrics are intended to increase the comfort of rooms that are now increasingly being used for multiple purposes.

Headquartered in St.Gallen, the textiles manufacturer Christian Fischbacher is launching its spring collection 2022 with a distinct focus on rural life and unspoiled nature. The fabrics and colors are designed to convey a sense of warmth and comfort in rooms during these times when people are increasingly working from home, the company writes in a press release.

“This can have a significant influence on our well-being, as, increasingly, our homes are not only a place where we relax, but also where we work”, explains Camilla Fischbacher, Creative Director at Christian Fischbacher, in the press release.

Under this premise, the spring collection 2022 by the name of “Arcadia” picks up on a longing for a romanticized, rural life deep in unspoiled nature. According to the press release, this is reflected in hand-painted designs from the company’s in-house studio, in the materials and natural colorways. The fabrics are made from natural materials such as wool, linen and cotton and are intended to create a cozy atmosphere. The colors are elegantly restrained, ranging from shades of white and beige through soft pastels and nuanced greens, all the way through to browns, rust-reds and blues, which aim to set warm accents.

A new feature of the collection is the use of recycled materials. For example, the Benu Check and Benu Structure fabrics were obtained from “garment cuttings from the fashion industry”. To achieve this, the cuttings were sorted by color, with “only the best textile fibers” then carded before being “spun into a new, high-quality yarn”, the company writes in the press release. This process results in a reduction of waste water, dyes, and chemicals, while also helping to cut energy consumption as well.
