Kuny AG, based in the town of Küttigen in the canton of Aargau, specializes in the production of textile ribbons of all kinds. It also focuses on the development of new methods. The company is now presenting two innovations to the textiles industry.

First of all, Kuny AG is one of the first companies in the world to offer camouflage printing on hook and loop fasteners, as the company explains in a press release. To this end, the company uses a contactless digital printing method, which it applies to the Hakofix fastener that it has played a role in developing over the past 50 years. According to the press release, the hook and loop fastener is also suitable for “extreme outdoor use”.

Second, the company has developed a new version of the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) label. Labels of this type are operated with radio frequency technology and provide a tracking system that allows items to be identified. According to the press release, the new version developed by Kuny has an increased range and is also particularly soft and flexible. To achieve this, the company has combined a small transponder with a textile satin ribbon and an additional antenna yarn.

According to information from the company itself, Kuny’s production activities are fully located at the company headquarters in Küttigen. The company’s core competencies include weaving, dyeing, printing and coating. In addition to the textiles industry, Kuny products are also used in medical products as well as in technical applications. Kuny has subsidiaries based in both Germany and England, while the company also maintains a presence outside of Europe with its products.
